I have MF65 high clearance gas tractor and bought a MF model 99 loader for it. The loader came off a 65 utility. My steering arm blocks the hole for the pump shaft when turned all the way left. Any solutions??--thanks Jack

The easy fix would be to turn your wheel all the way left then before the drag link comes in contact with the pump shaft weld a stop on the bottom of the housing where the spindle goes into. This will limite your turn radis to the left. I have had the orignal stop break on my mf 65 utility break and then had the drag link bust the pump shaft and had to fix the stop. I used a bolt tacked and then heated and bent.

You may be able to have someone fabricate one for you. Do you have the parts manual for your 65? It may have a picture of the offset steering arm. How about the machine the loader came off? Does it have the offset arm? Gary

This is a common problem with the MF-65. Your options are to find one of the steering arms Massey made to fix this problem (virtually impossible to find I am told), or use an alternative source for your hydraulic power.

I know of three possibilities: 1) use the rear PTO instead of the front. This will work well, but is a pain if you need your rear PTO for other things. You will also need a different pump because the front PTO runs around 2000 rpm while the rear runs at about 540rpm. 2) Use one of your remotes (if you have any). You will probably have to lock the lever open when you use the loader. 3) Tap directly into the tractor's hydraulic system. I have seen this done with an adapter that screws into the fill cap on top of the transmission. Options 2 and 3 will both work ok, but your loader will run slowly.
