Hello, I recently aquired a'52 model 44 with a continental H-260 4 cylinder gas engine. Was wondering if someone could tell me the torque specs for the mains and rods, as I do not have any manuals yet. Also I was curious....This tractor has a single front wheel, and 38 inch rear rims. The front rim does not have any traces of paint left on it, I was wondering if it was painted yellow or red from the factory? The rear wheel rims have a galvinized finish with no traces of paint on them as well, similar to farmall and case rims, the heavy cast rear wheel centers appear to have been red at one time. I have not been able to find a picture of a single front wheeled Massey Harris in original or restored condition, and all of the narrow dual front tractors, and wide front tractors I have seen have solid yellow wheel rims and wheel centers. Did the single front wheeled tractors have a different wheel paint scheme than the standard and narrow dual front tractors? Thanks for any help or opinions on this.....Tom

I can give you the specs you need, but don't have them in front of me ( at work ). I'll post them tomorrow a.m. I have a 1951 44 g.r. narrow front, same as yours. All the wheels should be yellow. I'm not sure about the wheel centers, but I'll check. If you e-mail me your home mailing address I can send you some pic'c + any pages of my service manuals that will help. There are much more experienced people on this site than me but they must all be out in the hay field.
