Did Massey use a seat on late 444's like the ones used on the Massey Harris 50 or were all the 444 seats the same?

David B.

The 444 did have an optional seat the same as that used on the early Massey Harris 50. The same part numbers for the pan, backrest, and lower bracket. It is listed as Seat, Deluxe (Special Equipment). I have a 1958 MH 50 Fully restored.

David,
The Triple 4's had the same pan seat, which flipped
back, like the Special. The tube pedestal was the same, as mid-'54 Specials. The sub-frame base mounts were different. As an option, the Triple
offered a bucket seat, possibly identical to the
50, but perhaps a difference in mount method. Difficult to say how many optional seats made it
to the customer, when you discover Harry F. had
the 'Hitch-Alls' in stock, scrapped;he disliked
the correct red. Keep up your M-H restoration.
