Does anyone have a wiring diagram to convert from a generator and voltage regulator to a alternator on a MF 135 ?

Could you just wire in a one wire alternator? I did that to my 64 model John Deere 3020 to go from 24 volt to 12 volts and it works great. Prettty easy to do too but not sure about wiring on a 135. I have a 135 as well and would like to do the same thing too it later on.

Check the sites the other guys have given you for a diagram. Some extra info though - Use an alternator with a built in regulator. This only requires 2 wires. Heavy wire is power out and goes through the amp meter and back to battery. Thinner wire is power to the alternator to power windings and make it work. This wire must be switched off when motor is not running otherwise your battery will go flat. This will require a seperate switch or a new ignition switch that turns off. Wire in a warning light to indicate it is on and you will remember to switch it off. I did this job to a MF135 several years ago. Make a new mounting bracket to fit the alternator as well.

If it's a diesel use an oil pressure switch to power the field windings. If gas use the ign. Mike
