i just recently bought a Super 101 from the original owner's daughter for $300 and need some info on where i can get parts. the tractor has the six cylinder chrysler motor.the lady said that she thought the block was cracked but wasnt for sure. If this is the case where can i get a block and a rebuild kit. Will a chrysler motor from a car or truck of the same era work?

I have a 1941 Super 101 myself and from what I've been told the 217 CID engine is actually a dodge truck motor. I don't know much more than that, but you can check the archives and maybe find out more info.

I rebuilt the Chrysler 217 engine in my 1939 101
Super last year and was able to get most of the parts from Andy Bernbaum Auto Parts, web address
www.oldmoparts.com, including a set of old-new-stock .060" oversize pistons. The few items they didn't have I was able to get from Kanter Auto Products, web address www.kanter.com, and Roberts Motor Parts, web address www.robertsmotorparts.com. Prices from all three suppliers were very reasonable. If you need an engine block, Andy Birnbaum or Roberts may be able to help you find one. To order the proper parts, you will need the engine model number which is cast into the front upper right side of the block just below the head gasket joint, or , if your engine is a rebuilt replacement engine and the number has been ground off, like mine was, you will need to measure the actual bore and stroke to properly identify the engine. These engines are what are call the "small block" which is 23" long and were the same ones used in Dodge and Plymouth cars and Dodge trucks of the same vintage with different manifolds and carburetors and with the addition of a belt driven governor.
Good Luck!

The car-truck ones will fit, depends how original you want to be. There is a correct engine model - as stamped on that flat spot at the front.
