I have a mf150 operator manual and a mf165 parts manual. I cannot find a picture of the stabilizer bars for 3 point hitch and how they hook on. Does anyone have a picture that they could send or post? Or tell me the size of metal to make them out of and how do they hook up to the axle/arms?
Thanks

Marcel, I have a 2135 op. manual. It shows a good picture of stab. bars and where they hook up to the tractor. It might apply in your case. I will send you a JPG by E-mail as I don't know how to put a picture in here. ray-s

Thanks for the picture Ray. I am a little confused. I thought the back end of the stabilizer bars would hook to the pins on the arms just ahead of where the implement hooks onto. The picture you sent looks like the back end hooks onto the same place the implement hooks on. Or is the picture distorting the view?

I know this may sound strange, but go to your local John Deere dealer. John Deere owns an interest in an aftermarket parts supplier called A&I. The flat non-adjustable stabilizer bars for a Ford 8N are less than $7.00 each through them. I'm sure they are also available for Massey's. If you want the tubular adjustable type, they are probably also available at a reasonable price.
Good luck!

I made some for my 175 out of a couple of surplus guardrail turnbuckles. I have an industrial loader on it and there were two holes in the frame just under the axle that I could hook them to. I made plates with pin holes and a half chain link welded to them to attach the turnbuckles.

my 165 has a couple of pins that are mounted below the fender bracket and the front of the stabilizer bar slides over it secured with a lynch pin, the back of the stabilizer slides on to another pin on the lift arms just in front of where the impliment pin goes. it is also secured with a lynch pin. you could easily make a set out of 1/4" by 2' flat bar. mine came with the tractor but there is nothing to it. if I can remember to bring home my digital camera i will take a picture and post it to you.

Hi, The 165 doesn't use a standard bar like my 135 has. I ended up buying an adjustable bar from TSC which fits the holes discribed above. Bill
