I'm considering the purchase of a new Massey 231 for a utility tractor.I would like to hear from someone who owns one or that knows enough about the new 200 series tractors. How well do these tractors run? what are the good and not so good points about them? What kind of price quotes are people getting? Just thought I'd try this board because you guys are Massey friendly and the other boards haven't responded to me.

The 200 series are fine tractors with the exception of the 231. There are a lot of parts on the 231 that is not interchangeable with any of the other 200 series. The best buy in my opinion would be the M.F.240

Ditto to Big Dean. I have been used to running 240's and the like around at the AGCO shop where I used to work. The 231 is an URSUS, a Polish Massey and it felt wierd compared to the British Masseys. Maybe You could get used to it, but get something common so you can get parts and service when you need it. Tom.
