I have a Massy Harris Pony and I am away from the tractor. I am able to purchase a Deere 5' belly mower from a 400. My questions are (1) has anyone done the attachment (2) Will the drive shaft convert to the rear position (3) Does my PTO turn counterclockwise (4) Can I pully to drive the blades at a suitble speed (5) Does my tractor have the power with a newly rebuilt oversized motor

I tried to do the same thing with a Woods on a MF35.The main problem was that most if not all the belly ptos turn much faster, about 2150rpm.Check the tractor your mower came from. Not to be outsmarted by a machine,I mounted a 16hp.Brigs v-twin on a frame and belt drive to the mower gear box.If you have a vertical shaft engine you could eliminate the gear box,but watch your engine rpm.TSC among others sells a pull behind unit similar to what I built,if you want to get an idea what I'm talking about. You can e-mail me with any questions you may have.
