Been looking on the net and can't seem to find out much info on the M.H. 444.

We have a wide front, gas model. The front axle casting (don't know if that is the proper name)
has raised letters on it that says it is made in Canada. Anybody out there know if the tractor was built there? Or is it just the WFE parts that come from there?

I'd also like to know what years they were built (been told from 56' - 58' but can't say if that is right or not. How many built in the gas version with power steering? Are they all 3 point hitch? Are they all 540 PTO with 2 stage clutch?
Are they all hi/lo range gearboxes?

Any of you out there still farming with a 444?

Thanks in advance- Mike

1956 70,001
1957 73,989-77,131
1958 77,132-77,393
All 444s have 10 speed (5Xhi/low) & 540 pto.
Wide front, live pto & power steering were options.
I don't know what you refer to as 2 stage clutch.

The Massey Harris Company was started in Canada and was Canadian until Harry Ferguson bought into it. It could very well be that your tractor was built in Canada, however some were manufactured in the states. I am also seeking info on the same tractor. If anyone knows of a source, please alert me.
