MF35 runs poor white smoke

Just got tractor has 3cyl perkins ,runs rough ,has white smoke, lots when revved.Water and oil clear normal temp and pressure. I changed all filters and bled twice then ran the tractor for 18 hrs straight at mid throttle,oil and water still normal,the tractor used most of a tank, black oily soot on the ground out of the exhaust,white smoke still and heavy diesle smell.I am going to use this tractor to run a pto pump 24/7 it has to be reliable.Thankyou for any help. Kim

have the injectors checked . If this isnt the trouble ,check the compression.The pump maybe the problem but not likely. White smoke is diesel that is barely starting to burn.Poor spray pattern,washed out tips, or REALLY LOW compression can all cause smoke. Also check the fuel return line for a restriction which can cause excessive fuel pressure and smoke. Good luck, David
