I have a Massey Harris Pony tractor that belonged to my dad that I am in the process of restoring. The tractor has not been running for atleast ten years. I would like any input you can give as to where is the best place to get the manuals for the tractor, and where to start in working on this tractor. The serial number is PGA 21503, which I think indicates that the tractor was manufactured in 1952. If anyone has words of wisdom to share, I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi David-The tractor is a 1952 model by the serial number.I have got information for my tractors from my local MF dealer. They photo copied there manuals for me.I checked the tractor manual site and there was no listing for the pony. Some of the manuals I have got I found at tractor shows. As far as starting on restoration I would start with the engine.I have one tractor that runs and works well so all it will get is the minor leaks repaired and some good tires and paint. It is only going to be used for show anyway. It depends on what you are going to do with the tractor after you get it up and running. If you are goig to use it I would recommend checking all the bearings in the rear-end as well.Good luck with your project.I hope you get as much satisfaction out of it as I get from doing mine.I find it to been challenging but also a very relaxing pass-time after a day of the regular job.
