I am trying to install a converter to have 2 remotes in the rear. Well I took off the existing unit on the tractor and when I did the tube that goes in the pump came out with the unit and when I put it back in I have no fluid comming up when I start the tractor as instructions have told me to do. I thought I would pull the main cover on the tractor off and it will only come up so far about 3 1/2 inches. I need some advise as the parts store said this might happen but it could be put back in.

The top cover doesn't come off, unless you have disconnected the hyd regulator levers thru the hole on the right side of the tranny. Just yanking the top off will surely ruin the levers.
Consult Big Dean for details. (or RYFM)

Hydaulic levers stay put, Remove side plate from right side of trans, remove roller from end of contol rod, if you dont the roller will come out and fall under the hyd pump and is a devil of a job to retreve. If your hydraulics were ok to start with check the O rings on tae stack pipe you removed, and that it is located properly in the pump-check throuh side plate, while the side plate is off check the control valve is free to move.If still no joy check the suction filter acess through the left side plare - where the p.t.o. lever goes in.
