My M-50 wont hold the 3-point up without the tractor running, and it is slow to raise to begin with, so I want to try to rebuild or repair the hydraulic system. I hear it is not a complicated task. Do I need a "kit" or is it just a matter of replacing worn out O-rings? Are there any suggestions that anyone could give me before I tear into it? Any particular problem areas I should watch out for, or not do? Any suggestions or words of experience would be greatly appreciated!!

It depends on what is truly wrong. Just had a MF50 rebuilt. If it needs a kit, they can be expensive. So check around. I had quotes from $300 to $500 for the kit. Sometimes they can just get gummed up. Cleaning may help, but I dought it. Also sometimes a fluid change may help. Here in Texas I paid about $6.00 per gallon. Anyway my rebuild was $458.00 labor and parts. Lots of luck.
