I have a MF65 with the Continential G176 gasoline engine. When I purchased it, it had a homemade heat shield between the valve cover and the gas tank that could hold off a thermonuclear explosion! It didn't have the one between the muffler and the gas tank. I've tried to find salvage ones with no luck. So I'm down to having new ones fabricated. I was wondering if someone could help me with any of the following options:

1) Previously completed set of drawings or dimensioned sketches for both shields.

2) Wouldn't mind making a set of dimensioned sketches from theirs.

3) Could send me an old set of shields and I'll make the sketches myself.

4) Open to suggestions.

Ken

You might be surprised to find those heat shields still available new at your Massey dealer. If they don't have them for a MF-65, try for a MF-165. The 165 used the same engine and gas tank set-up as the 65, but since the 165 is a newer model, parts are easier to find.

Thank you, I'll check it out.

By the way, I know of several MF65 and none have heat shields. Was it common to throw them out when they gave you problems?
