I know this might be a stupid question for somebody who knows what they are doing. I took my parents tractor into the shop and they hooked the postive on the battery to the ground strap. I thought they made a mistake but they told me that some old tractors are postive ground. This is a massey-ferguson to-35 that caught on fire so I didn't know how it was ground before. Is this correct?

One fast way to determine if it is corrcet. When you have it running and your amp gauge shows a discharge it is hooked up backwards. If it shows a charge it is correct.Lots of the older tractors were positive ground.Have seen a lot that have been changed to a system where they use alternator's.Bruce Colbourne
