Not being a Massey guy, I'm not sure what I was looking at. Hope some of you fellers can help me out.
Man selling tractor said it was a '47. Looks to me like a 22. Has wide front end, flat head 4 cyl gas engine, 3 PTH, has short open drive shaft with a U joint on each end, no belt pulley but looks like maybe you could put one on it. Data plate has numbers stamped in it: 22-GR and 2134.
I'm guessing it's a '49 Massey Harris 22. How far off am I?
BTW, the guy wants $2500 for it but would prolly take $2k. Worth it? Rear tires are almost new and it started right up and ran good. (12 volt)\
Thanks

Thanks, Bruce. Is it a 22? What do you think of the price? Good machine?

Hi Popeye I checked the tractor value site and it showed a 1948 #20 was purchased in 1998 for $1500.00 in working order.I would have to think his asking price of $2500.00 dollars is at the top of the price value of these tractors. But then there is always someone who will pay more for them than what we consider a fair price. If the tractor is in good condition and you can get it for the price you mentioned I would say you did well.Good luck to you.
