High , This is Mike, I have a M. F. 205 industrial with the A3-152 Perkins. I am installing the front crank seal and am having some trouble. My book says to install it 3/32" deep ,but my pully has a flange on it that protrudes about 3/16" into the housing, so it hits the seal. The seal is a double lip seal, the spring loaded lip fits the hub fine, but the dust lip is about 1/16" larger diamater than the seal serface of the hub and protrudes about 1/16" in front of the seal.Is that dust lip supposed to ride on the face of the flange or on the same surface on the hub as the spring lip? Are there two seal hub sizes, mine is 2 1/4"?
The seal is perkins ,did I get the wrong seal or is my book wrong, Maybe 3/16" instead of the books 3/32". I am waiting for a reply from Big Dean , and I am interested in what you all think?
Thanks again, Mike
