I just bought this tractor, it is my first tractor
to start it I have to pull it off. when i use the key the engine will turn over but it wont start.
the last owner installed new injectors and a new battery does this tractor require positive to positive, negitive to negitive or positive to negitive, negitive to positive. the tractor runs fine the only problem i am aware of is the pull it off to start issue. and one last question where can i get a manual.

is it a 3cyl or 4cyl, I have a 3cyl and the only problem I have is if it is colder than 60 degrees
it has to be started with using the manifold heater

I can not be much help on the starting problem but as this is your first tractor I felt I should warn you of a potential problem. My father purchased a new MF 35D in 1961. The tractor would ocassionally jump into gear by itself if left running. I was just a child so I don't have any further details but I do remember that the tractor did kill an operator years after he sold it to a neighbor. It apperently jumped into gear and ran a man over with its cultivator. Does any know how common this was or if Massey had a recall. I also remember reading about this problem in the paper.

we just converted our TO35 to a 12 volt system by replacing the two 6 volt with a single 12 volt battery
another thing that will help is a block heater
