MF35 lift problem

My MF35 lift will raise slowly and then drop back down. I changed the hydraulic oil and then tried the master control spring adjustment and found the plunger locked in the clevis. Replaced the plunger and did the adjustment, but still have the same problem.

The hydraulic oil was in very bad condition when I drained it and some sludge deposits. I couldn't find the pump screen to clean it when I was changing fluid. Is there anyway to flush the hydraulic system on these tractors? Thanks, in advance, for any advice or help.

Philip

You probably have a bad leak in the system somewhere I would first pull the transfer plate on top of the lift cover & check the stand pipe O-rings If you have an after market valve for remotes you would have to pull it to remove the stand pipe. Next remove the access plate with the dipstick in it on the right side look in side while trying to raise the lift. If you have oil running down from the top it is either the O-ring between the Cylinder & liftcover or a cracked cylinder I don't thing Piston rings would cause this problem but they might. Look for turbulence around the right back corner of the pump that would be a bad relief valve. Let me know if you don't find anything this way I will tell you where to go next.

Big Dean.....My lift on my MF 250 got very slow and weak. I cleaned the screen and changed fluid per your instructions. It is OK now but still seems slow compared to some other tractors.
Is this normal for MF? It is only a 900 hr tractor.
