I am looking for a new ring gear for a Massey Harris 44. Where can I buy one or who has one? The one thats on there wont let the starter engage properly, and it appears to be turned already with bad spots on the other side. Thanks in advance. It is a four cylinder.

Mark

i have the same problem this weekend I am going to take it apart and try to cut the welding and turn the gear around, I think it is a common problem I have a 44 and 44special both do it. thanks matt I will let you know if it works.

Mine is not welded, I took a punch and hammer and tapped around it, and it came loose. Think I found someone who can get me a new one. Hope so, or else gotta go to a scrap yard and take on out. What did mine in was the starter i had rebuilt, the people who did it put in the wrong spring, and I put it to twelve volts, didnt take long before it was shot. Good uck

Mark, you could try Mr. R. Corbin in Silex Mo. Ph. #573-384-5939. He was parting out a 33? or 44? during the winter. Good honest man to deal with. Gary
