Is it a very large sin to paint a 444 completely red, engine and all. That isn't correct but probably my choice. I don't paint the old flat heads black

One thing about the bright colors of a massey tractor is you can see it easily in a field. Not like all them green machines you can hide in the grass.Putting all jokes a-side about paint colors I think the original colors look best no-matter what make of machine the collector has.

Looks like the casket paint fit in well with the demise of the Massey Harris

Actually, the triple series was originally set to paint the engine red, however they ran out of paint and had to borrow a 500 gallon drum of that bronze (out-house brown) paint from the casket manufacturing plant next door. One thing led to another and they continued with the habit. To me, they look like a Massey Harris with a Mazda stuck under the hood. Please paint it red then you'll have a "real original" 444.

Hey you guys!

Common! &*(% house brown, not really but it mimicked the coluor of the Canadian prarie landscape years ago when the major crop was wheat, bread wheat that is & it fed the world as the priemier bread wheat around, just ask the Chinese who bought so much of it! It also catered to sales as well the tractor hood simulated the waves of wheat & the gold colour added to it, so 1 more for the Canadian Prarie farmer, he out marketed his American counterpart. Some of US American farmers should mimick more & more what our bretheren do up north, then mabe we won't have to rely on govt hand outs, how about A FARMERS UNION.

Not being a smart guy but somehow I lose your train of thought. What is it that you are trying to say? Are you in that "corn liquor" belt down there and testing out last falls batch or what? In any case, your post is pretty funny whether it was on purpose or not).
