I thought the purpose of the power adjust wheel was to save time and work! I only have used them on 28" wheel with locking wedges that you give a half turn (MF 65) but all I do is take the stop of the rail, turns the wedges till they are in the unlocked position drive which direction I need to using the brake and clutch till they are in the new position. I never jack the tractor up.

gbj: Jack up tractor with both wheels brake locked, loosen four spacer-lug nuts on rim ramps. rotate the tire in the direction you want to go. (probably have to "persude" them with a small sledge hammer)..and reset the spacer-lug nuts. Remember to recheck them next day till you are sure they are set in and havent moved...they will move on you if not enought torque applied in proper amounts. good luck. (PS..I got rid of my power adjust rims..too expensive to replace..went with normal centers and rims.

Jack up tractor and use a sledgehammer!?!?!?! That's ignorance of what how to properly use your equipment showing. They call them POWER ADJUST for a reason. Do one side at a time. Leave the tractor on the ground, take the rail locks off Yes, there are supposed to be stops on either side of the clamp on at least one rail, that's what all those holes in that rail are for. Put one stop back on where you want the new position of the wheel to be, loosen the clamps, oil the rails, then apply the brake on the side you're NOT trying to move, start up tractor, and gently pop the clutch a few times. The wheel should move. Depending on in or out, you may have to put the tractor in forward or reverse, can't remember which way moves the wheel which way. When the clamp hits the stop, shut off the tractor, put the other stop on the other side of the clamp, then tighten down clamps. Done this many times on MF65 to put on corn picker. Now you know how to do it right. Too many people don't know their equipment. Buy and read some manuals once in a while and you might make things easier on yourselves!

Hey...you ARE right..that is the right BOOK way to do it..but didn't work for ME...call it an alternative method that DID work..sometimes manuals dont tell it all..a few taps with a small sledge dosnt hurt anything on all that steel.. and I have seen some serious accidents with people "popping" the clutch with one wheel braked...and those lugs dont slide like they are supposed to slide..will bet money on THAT!...yup...its all good as long as its safe and it works...thanks for the input...obviously I am not an expert..OD
