MF 135 Steering gear box question

Have a MF 135 3cyl. diesel w/ power steering but steering gear housing is cracked/broken. This is the large unit the pittman arms hang from, steering column enters, transmission shift levers enter, and the power steering cylinder bolts to the front.
QUESTION; If I want to convert to manual steering, (as the housing is much cheaper and easier to find), can I simply cap off pressure line in/outlets and use all the same internals from this gear box (minus the hyd. cylinder, of course)? Thanks in advance for any responses.

I have a 35 which, I believe, uses the same
steering system as the 135. The power steering
was not working when I bought the tractor and it's
been a real struggle especially with a load of
gravel in the bucket. I'm in the process of
restoring the power assist. Is your housing
beyond repair? Absolutely?
I've been looking over the illustrations in my
parts book, between manual and power, and while
I'm not certain, it doesn't look like a simple
exchange of innards. The bushings and bearings
and seals are obviously different. And I suspect
there may be other differences that are not so
evident... Anyone else have input?
Email me directly if you like. Good luck.
Roger
