As the guys said, stick with the Perkins. Parts are the lowest cost of anything going.

I have a couple of blocks here in NB Canada (parted out 2 35's), if you haven't found anything yet.

What happened? and are the other components ok? or do you need other parts to get her mobile again?

We maintain a fleet of about a dozen of the old MF's including 4 of the 35's with the Perkins. Probably the best tractors ever built in their
size!

Drop me a note if I can help - with parts, or fixing advice. We've run into most problems, and overcome nearly all of them. One I haven't licked yet - operator error!

Find another block, stay with the Perkins diesel.

David: I have an MF 35 and I am far from being an expert, but if I were going to choose power plants, I would stay with the Perkins diesel. They are one heck of a good engine. Easy to rebuild and to get parts for. Very popular. I don't have any experience with the gas units, but I am told the diesel far outperforms it in torque, fuel economy, and overall in general. I love my unit. Regarding the salvage value of the tractor. You would need to give more information on its overall condition as it sits. (Rubber and metal status, etc.) before someone can offer you a value range. Good luck!
