Found an old massy today & would like to know how old she is.It was real hard to read the information on the tag,but I did come up with these numbers 20-OR 4697. These were printed on the lower part of the tag.I know this isn`t much to go on,but can anyone tell me when it was made? Thanks in advance DON

Take a look on the right side of the tractor as you sit on it,look for the core bungs on the engine and to the left of them is a raised casting no.Ive a FE35 and mine reads 16.5.57 also on the clutch housing same side below the steering box is another casting no. mine reads 6.57 and is upside down.As to which tractor you have, send me your e-mail address and I'll send back an attachment of questions for you to try and fill in and I,ll try to ID it for you.

You can find a ser.# stamped on top of the transmission case (deck) on the left hand side, between the shifter, and the gear cover. You may have to do some scraping. Let us know what you find. Is it a row-crop or a standard? 4 cylinder, or 6 cylinder, flat head or overhead???

Don, your comment as aroused my interest. I have an old Massey Ferguson. I know how to trace the serial numbers, but my problem is that the serial number plate, usually found on the "dash" as been removed. The tractor is either a TO-35 or a MF-35. Of course there are some years difference in these two models (makes it clear and sad why someone would want to remove the serial number plate).Anyway, to get away from the tractor mutilator, the tractor has stickers on the side that says "Massey Ferguson 35" and one that says "Deluxe". The tractor does have the duel clutch, so I'm pretty sure that it is a deluxe. I don't know if there was a TO-35 deluxe, or a duel clutch on a TO-35. It is driven by a 4- cylinder Continental. My Quest and question is, is there some other location where I can find a serial number on this tractor? Your comment to Dave has got me wondering. I will look tomorrow to see what I can find. Do you know of any other locations where I might look? I would hate to think that the history of this tractor has been lost because of the removal of one little plate. Any help is appreciated. Cf

Cf;
I own a '57 To-35 Deluxe. My owner's manual
states that amoung the items included as standard
for this tractor are: dual clutch, ground speed
PTO, tractormeter and foam-float seat (cushioned
seat & back). Power steering was an option. Other
than that...?
Maybe the paint can give you clues. I think the
grill is a bit different, too. I sure there are
others who frequent this board that can help ID
your tractor. Keep diggin' and good luck!

Thanks Roger. Yeah mine has all the features that you have described, as well. A fella at the parts place (where I bought a Radiator and a Carburetor last year)said he thought it sounded like a '57 or '58 TO-35. I guess the hardest part is that the TO-35 and the MF-35 are so much alike. Again thanks for the response and yeah I'll keep searching. I can say this! It's one heck of a good tractor!
