I am working on a recently purchased MF50. It did not have the flex-shaft drive cable that goes between the TractorMeter (RPM and Hourmeter) and the generator. I bought one and installed it. My problem is that the Tractormeter is turning backwards.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thansks..

Jeff,
I think that this may be your problem. The 50, as well as the 35 have tractormeters that run clockwise. The 135 series runs counterclockwise. For about $65 you an get a new tractormeter for the 135 with the appropriate mph bands, but the original clockwise tratormeters are few and far between. I'll bet that someone replaced your original tractormeter with a new one. When it didn't work, he just disconnected it and left it for you.
What direction is your tractormeter?

Someone apparently HAS swapped the Tractormeter out on this unit. Since I am planning on using it for work instead of restoration, I purchased a newer model tach from the M/F dealer. It is a tach and hourmeter, but does not have the bands that indicate speed. No biggie though.

Thanks.
Jeff
