Just recently purchased a 1953 Massey 33 wide front, long frame tractor. Does anyone out there have any info on these? Does anyone know the breakdown of these?

Dad had 2 MH 33 on the farm when I was growing up. one had cast wheels and the engine had been kited and was said to be 43hp. don't know if it was but it had a lot more power. the other had steel centers on the wheels and was a lot lighter every thing else was the same. both had narrow frount ends. dad sold them in the late 70s when he bought some Leland's 384 & 270. the MH 33 may not have had the hp of the lelands but they were a lot better tractors and Hour for hour would way out last them. Glad to see there are still some running out there.

Murray, thanks for the info. They are a good little tractor. This one is a long frame and was orignially purchased in Lindsay, ON and sold to a local farmer who didn't do a lot of farming with it. It never left the area and now we have it and its running like a charm. Its in really good shape. Thanks again.

The 33 was built in 53,54,55. It is the same chassis as a 44 but has a 201 ci ohv engine of the same configuration. It was offered as a Row Crop or Standard, gas or diesel, w/o live pto, w/o cast wheels, w/o wide front, w/o 3pt hitch. The hood and gas tank are different than a 44 but they have the same 7 bar grill. The first Standards had a short frame like a 30. The later ones had a long frame like the RC and are very rare.

Tom, thanks for your information. The massey we have is a 33 long frame. It turns out that the tractor was originally purchased in Lindsay, ON and sold to a farmer in the area and the tractor never left the area. It has seen very little work and is in great shape. We live in the Lindsay area and have farmed here for years. Thanks again for the info.
