Massey Ferguson Combine 410 troubles

A friend of mine has the above combine with a 292 chevy motor. He can't get it to start and has boiled the carb, replaced the fuel line, new plugs and wires. He told me that if he takes his hand to the carb and pops the intake numerous times, it will start only to sputter to a stop. any help would be appreciated as it is sitting half way out and half way in the barn. Thankyou in advance

The 410 has an electric fuel pump back at the tank. It also has a fuse in the fuse panel beside the seat. Take the line off the carb, turn on the key and see if gas flows freely. If not, check if the pump is running - you can hear it. Those rubber fuel lines can deteriorate and plug too!

I have not ran a 410 in years. When ours first came to the farm the Electric fuel pump,built in filter,and fuel lines were replaced pretty Quickly. Be sure and keep the engine compartment clean. I have seen many of them burned. We replaced almost every bearing on that machine over the years that it was used. Danny
