Been looking for an Oliver Super 99 or 990 but these are rare and very expensive. Buddy of mine told me to consider a MF 98. Only MF experience I have is a 1973 MF 50C TLB. I use this for stump clearing and basic land clearing.

What kind of availability on the 98's? Cost of these? Looking at them they look very much like an Oliver. Were they Oliver built? Pros and Cons of the 98?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Shep FL, According to a book I have, The American Tractor by P.W.Ertel, in 1960 Massey bought about 500 Oliver 990s, painted them red, added Massey style sheet metal and decals. They marketed them as the MF 98. The MF95 and MF97 were Minneapolis-Moline's. Tractortips.com shows them being made from 1960 till 1962. It did not show any serial numbers unfortunately. Hope this helps some.
