Hello:

I have a Massey Ferguson MF-40 Ser.# 9AI59889. Could anyone tell me the year this tractor was made? I would like to find the original specs for this model if possible.

Thank-you

Are you sure that number behind the 9A is not a 2 or possibly a three? If the number is 9A259889 then it would have been manufactured early 1977. If that third digit is a 3, then this tractor would be one of the last manufaqctured in 1982. The 9A numbers started in the late 60's on certain tractors. If this tractor were a 135 and not an industrial 40, then the number would make it a 1973. These ind tractors get real confusing. Tom S.

I also just baught a MF 40B and I need to get some information on it, but I did learn that the 40 has a three cylinder engine and the 40 B has a four cylinder "Perkins" diesel. If you find a place for more info about a 40 B I would appriciate it if you would let me Know.
