I just added the original hydraulics and 3 point hitch to my 33 and everything is working but I find that I have no control over how fast the snow blade comes down. It just seems to drop as soon as I move the lever. There is some control when lifting but it does seem to come up quite fast and therefore hard to control the stop point. If I leave the blade up with the tractor off it will come down over time. There is a minor leak at the back side of the contol valve. Just wondering if anyone has every rebuilt one of these valves and how hard is it to get seals etc?

I installed my hydr cylinder as well on my MH30. It sits under the seat and has a single leaver. The leaver is spring loaded and floats at center and to go up I pull on it, and down push.

Actually what you describe for "down" is what I'm looking for right now because I have a blower and would like it to dead drop for deeper penetration before pushing.

The down on mine works at the same speed as up pressure as it should do. The only "O" ring seal I had to replace because of a steady drop leak was on the 1/2in stop shaft at the bottom of the cylinder. In order to do that I had to remove the screws on the seal retaining plate to get at it, but was a simple job. However the cylinder still worked ok when it was leaking.

I'm no expert but it sounds like you need a
standard adjustment done on the cylinder itself. Did you purchase the cylinder in that condition or did it just start malfunctioning while you had it? What I'm getting at is that the prev owner may have intentially adjusted it that way to dead drop on "down" instead of a 2 way. That could be done by allowing some check ball to remain open thereby bypassing the cylinder. Any hydr shop would check it out for a few bucks, but I'm pretty sure that's it's just an adjustment. It takes quite a lot to damage these suckers, mostly thru dirty oil.

As far a leakage when stopped, that's normal.
Mine goes down halfway in 36 hours which they tell me is pretty good.

I'd get it looked at in a MF shop an see what they say otherwise get a manual on MH Hydraulics sold at this site. Check the index on the left.
