Just purchased MF 175 diesel from an estate. I've been off the farm since 65' and have about nil diesel knowlege. It started and runs good, questions on what some things do. 1. Long lever on left side on drive train-engage pto? 2. Short pedal at rear of right foot rest-would be operated with right heel-no idea? 3. Black button on right side of dash? 4. Would this tractor have glow plugs for cold starts?

The lever on the left is pto. Push the lever to the rear for regular pto and foward for ground drive pto. The pedal on the right rear is a differential lock. The black knob is a light switch. To my knowlege it did not have glow plugs,

The lever on the left side is for the PTO. Push back for engine, cntr for neutral, down for ground speed.

The lever for your right heal locks the rear wheels for posi-trac funtion.

Not sure about the black button, my 165 has a black knob switch there for lights. Your button maybe for the intake heater, don't think it has glow plugs but has a intake heater instead. Maybe be wrong on this one though.

Hope this helps
