I know this is too new for this forum, but can anybody suggest a web site, or help me out. What is the horsepower of a M-F 383? I would also like to know what would a really nice one sell for? This one I saw only has 442 hours on it and is like new. I don't know the year model yet. I would appreciate any comments. Thanks Mark R.

A 383 has a 248 Perkins 4 cyl engine that makes about 70 some odd horse power. If memory serves me correct a 383 was advertised with 67 PTO horsepower. These are wonderful mid-weight tractors with good hydraulics. With only 442 hrs. this has to be one of the later 90's models. I have seen these as high as $15k with a loader in recent history. I do not know about now and don't know about what area you are in. I am just curious, and not trying to be nosey, but what price are they asking? Tom S.

Tom, Thanks for the response. I live in south central Va. near Kerr Lake. This tractor is in an estate and the exectutor got appraisals on some of the equipment. The M-F 383 was appraised at $12,300 with no attachments, but it has remote hydraulics. The tractor is in excellent shape, of course it should be with only 442 hours. I think they are gong to try and get 15K, I bet. I'll let you know. What area are you in?

Mark; I live just back over the mountain from you, 35 mi. west of Nashville in mid Tn. The price sounds about par, however this tractor sounds like a cream puff, esp if kept inside. Get the serial # and I will give the year of manufacture.
Keep in mind that the ag machine business is in the pot right now, and prices we were accustomed to do not apply at the present moment. The people who are settling the estate might not know that some of this stuff can't be financed by farmers out on the market right now. This sounds like a high end piece of equipment, not an antique novelty, or a lawn and garden tractor that would have a stable price. Tom S.
