My MF 135 works well, but after 20 minutes or so, it dies. It'll start back up for a few minutes, then die again. Replaced plugs, rotor, distributer cap and did a basic adjustment to the carb. It runs smoother now, but still have same problem. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

mike, why didn't you say you had to jump it to start it.next time u start it ,take the battery cable off. if it stalls it is probaly your charging system.but also check your battery cells.

One basic symptom of a bad condenser is that they work fine when they are cold but start to act up when they get warm. Also second the motion on the plugged fuel cap vent.

some years back,i had a combine do that very thing, turned out,the generator wasn't charging the battery.after booststarting there would be enough juice to run 15 to 20 min, then it would stall.just a thought!

Could be any of the above but I had a similar problem with a Deere 318. I know, not a real tractor but anyway... They both use the same ignition switch. My tractor would stall at will when warm. Absolutely no electricity and then like magic it would run like nothing ever happened. This went on for years until this winter when it left me stranded in the middle of the highway. A new ignition switch cured the whole problem. Who would have thought....?

Could also be your ign. coil, that quits on you, when it gets hot.

Good luck Thyge

I'll try that, thanks. I should have also noted that the battery doesn't hold a charge and that I need to jump it/charge every time. Don't know why I didn't mention that earlier.

Check fuel filters, Filter on tap at tank, gauze filter at fuel pump etc. Blow out with compressed air if available.
