My deceased grandfather left a 1938 Challenger and a 101 6-cyl engine. Are parts available for the Challenger engine and how do I tell exactly what 101 engine I have(no 101 tractor)?

to identify the old flat heads, the distributer comes out through the head up on a contential and out along the side from the crankcase on the chrysler

If it was just a 101, they were made from 39-45 and they had Chrysler 206 cubic inch engines. If it was a 101 Super, these were made also from 39-45 and they had Chrysler 230 cubic inch engines. The 101 Seniors were made from 42-45 and they had Continental 226 cubic inch engines. Continental and Chrysler engines look a lot alike, well at least to me they do, both being 6 cylinder flathead (or L-Head) engines. Maybe somebody else call tell you some details on eyeballing the difference between those two types. Any tags on the engine?

Woops! It's not a 1938! Rest is Correct.
