The brakes grab and lock up on my 165 in cold weather, untill the brakes are used several times. At first I guessed the rotors had rust on them, but now days i`ve noticed some grease and dust starting to show up at back side of axle housing, it the area of brakes. Just wondering if anyone had this trouble before? JR. KS.

Yes i have recently had this problem with my massey 165. I have readjusted the brakes, time and time again until they both come at the same time. The best thing to do is to pick up some speed and put the brakes on with some force. If you only put them on lightly, they will probably grab and chuck you about in the cab. Keep doing this until they stop 'banging' and making a noise until they operate like a normal set of brakes on a car. If you regualrly do this, they wont grab as often in cold weather, it only because they get cold and need rubbing up.

Do you have wet or dry brakes? Are the weap holes
cleaned out or plugged up? If weap holes are pluged you could have oil leaking on your dry
brakes. The oil could cause them to lock up??? There could also be a lot of brake dust on everything and that causes the brakes to
lock up until they warm up.
