Is this the way it is suppose to be--that with a 1969 MF165, that when plowing, you use the position lever to position the depth of the plow, and move the draft lever down the quadrant to activate the draft? Then when your at the end of the field you move two levers to get the plow out of the ground, and when you start back down the field, you move two levers to get the plow back in the ground and the draft activated?

Nope...No way!!! leave the position control in the "transport" position, {or at least a little way back from there} The plough is then lifted and lowered into the ground with the draft lever only,You will have to experiment with the draft lever a bit until you find that you are working at the desired depth, Then move the adjustable stop next to the lever while in work, then when you lower the plough back in the ground, the draft lever will always be in the correct position giving the required depth of work.Do not try to plough using position control, the plough will only try and bury itself! Oh and one more thing, Use position control to attach and detach the plough {or any other implement on the 3 point hitch } for safetys sake.

Could you go over draft vs. position control again and when to use each. Since I don't have a good grasp of what's what, I always use postion control, disking, box blade, mowing, plowing etc. Please help.

I have a MF 165.
