I agree if you're opearting in cold weather the gas is a good idea. Look under the tractor on the bottom of the beel housing for any laeks there is a small vent hole which shoiuld have cotter key in it. leaks could mean a bad rear seal especially if the tractor has been sitting, you would have to braek it in two to fix this but it isn't a huge deal. yes you can pu on a number of pipe loadrs meant for the 35's mine has a New Idea "Horn" loader. the hydraulics on the 35 isn't that afst for a loader though.

scott: Big Dean is the guy to ask regarding MF tractors. I just got an MF 35 3 cyl diesel last month and it is one sweet tractor, you will love it. Big deans site is:

Depends which motor is fitted. The 3 cyl 3.152 is best. Has the unit been shedded as water gets into places it should like gear boxes otherwise.

I would not shy away from a gas tractor unless it has excessive hours on it. Even then if the price was right you could factor in the cost of a rebuild. Do you know which gas engine it has? Perkins Continental or Standard. The good thing about a gas engine is that they start easily in cold weather and an older diesel could be VERY costly to repair especially if you get into injection pump and injectors\nozzles. A new carb for a gas engine might run $250 US.
Just my 2 cents
