While using my disc today my MF 165 diesel quit running as if it was out of fuel. It has a full tank and was running fine before it quit. It was running for about 30 minutes before it died. I have not been able to get it started again. I'm going to replace the fuel filters, besides this does anyone have any other suggestions? For what its worth I had the fuel tank cleaned a couple of months ago (about 15 hours of use).

I changed both fuel filters on my 168, and after that on heavy load the engine died out and air had to be bleeded out before it started again. The problem was on the fuel tap, which was "jammed" on a position where is was not fully open but let some fuel though, causing lack of fuel on heavy load.

Don't know about your 165, but my 135 has a screen "strainer" on top of the fuel cut off valve inside the tank. My tractor acted just as you describe yours doing. The strainer was cleaned and back to normal. You will be able to see with a flashlight, mirror and empty fuel tank. Can get to by removing your valve. Of course a good way to acquire new leaks if not careful. good luck
