according to neb. test, a 44G was 47hp, 44D was 43hp.(corrected) a 44 makes a good puller. I pull a 44D div 2, a 44G div1, and am building a div3, 44G. I love 'em

as far as i could tell you from experiance that they are the only thing that can beat a JD in the antique pull, if it has 4 cyl. it is better that a 6 cyl. they have better pulling power than the 6 my dad and brothers pull 44, 4 cyl, dad use to pull his 6cyl. but was pulling againist my brother so he retired the 6 cyl. and pulls his 4 cyl. brother went to the class higher. and pulls real well.
