I am considering purchasing a MF65. I have yet to see it. Im not sure if it is diesel or gas but I do know it has a wide front end. I would like to know of possible problems that are common for this model. I know nothing about them and would appreciate any advice as well as a price range.

John, What part of the country are you in? The prices you have there seem awful good to me. I paid twice that for a 135 diesel here in Georgia 6 months ago and although I didn't feel like I got an especially good deal, I didn't feel ripped off either.

I'm still happy with my diesel, but cold weather starts are not a factor with me. If its that cold, I'll sit by the fire! :-)

Good luck!

The MF 65 is a very fine tractor, but has all the ususal common problems. Continental diesel is bad engine.

According to my serial number list your pony isa 1949. The round shaped draw bar was on the early ponies. All manuals are available on this site. I highly recommend getting them. Saves lots of confusion.
