Are you sure its not 10,900 hours or the tach was replaced just 900 hours ago? Or the tach cable broke at 900 hours and hasn't been replaced? Is it three cylinder or four cylinder? The three is a Perkins while the four is a Continental. The Continental has a propensity to loose rocker arm lubrication as the corks rot out of the ends of the rocker arm shaft. Rocker arms are hard to find. I made bushings for mine and made a new shaft last year. Though I see CT lists a new assembly in their catalog now. Like some one said on another reflector, rust just means the rocker cover gasket doesn't leak. Plugs get old by engine hours, not by calendar hours, but they may be difficult to remove. Check the hydraulics with a gauge in the remote. Should do 2350 pounds if I remember right. Check the three point for smooth lifting with and without load. There should be two lift levers, one for draft and the other for position. Check both, one works best with the other full up. If the tractor really has low hours it shouldn't leak. If its been around the clock, it probably will drip out the clutch bell housing after running. There's a set of concentric shafts and seals on the transmission (PTO and drive) that wear and leak. They also wear the shaft. If it has multipower that hydraulic control valve is also in the bell housing and that's old enough for the o-rings to be hard and so leaking. That's more pronounced after using the multipower in high range. Being about 30 years old, all gaskets and seals may have dried out or rotted from old age so things may leak that have been fixed on mine. I see few for sale. I'd like to ask $5000 for mine, but will have to polish it up a bit to get that much. Gerald J.
