I would like to put new oil in my MF-65 tranny and hydraulics. Is there something better than 90W? There was a discussion a while back where someons said to never use extream pressure (EP) lubes, is this true? If so, why? Also, what lube is used in the final drive planetary gears in the rear axle? If I read the I&T right these are not lubed by the rear end oil. Finally, is there a modern hydraulic fluid to replace the "type A transmission fluid" used in the power steering? Thanks, EEA

My MF35 manual says to use type M1129 oil in the transmission/hydraulic/rear drive system. This carris the industry standard rating of 15W40. Never use the straight 20W rated hydraulic oil in a drive line. This M1129 can be replaced by Wal-Mart trans-hydraulic oil in the green and white pails. This is also approved as a type A fluid sub.in the power steering.
