I am trying to get a 1950 T020 back in running
condition but I can't seem to get all of the
gunk & rust out of the gas tank. It runs awhile then stops up the bowl again. How can I clean the tank or treat it to solve this problem?

: Dale, I had the same problem with my M farmall a year ago, I took the tank to my neighbors shop & steam cleaned it from the fill opening & through the hole where the sediment bowl attaches, I can't believe I got all the crud out but I've never had anymore problems. I thought about putting in some 85% ethanol to see if it loosens up anymore but haven't yet. Roger

:::::Take your tank to a radiator man and have him sandblast it out on inside and apply a sealer to the inside. It is expensive but not for the long run.

I a going to put small stones inside the tank. Shake it, and get the stones out again, clean it with clean gasoline. And that's about it.

Of course it depends on how often you use your tractor, and in case you use it a lot, get gas on a 50 gal. barrel and let water and dirt fall to the bottom of the barrel before filling it on the TO20 gas tank. Then, with clean gas, it should last for a long time.
The thing is not to shake the barrel during filling for TO20 tank.

There are also some stuff to put in gas tank that prevent water in fuel.
