: : : It may truly be a military design. But various models of MF tractors used different sizes of Continental engines. Look for Z 120 through Z-145 on that engine tag. That will give a hint. : : Is the front of the hood/grill rounded or squarish? : : Gerald : I would say that it is "Sqauarish". Is the enclosed cab : a common feature or is that unusual for 1962 MF models. : I'm wondering if the cab is something that may give : a clue as to the model of this tractor. : Thanks, Matt Walli - Powers, MI A cab is relatively unusual in a tractor of that size, more unusual for that vintage. Cabs of that era tended to just be rain covers, weren't dust tight, not well ventilated and were not strong enough to stand a roll over. They were most often supplied by makers other than the tractor maker, such as Hiniker and Excel. And tended to be very square. The MF-135 hood is kind of squarish, more than round up front. Has an automotive type hood that opens from the side to get to the gas tank. The serial number and engine model should be on that Continental tag. Attack it with paint stripper, not sand blasting. The numbers should have been stamped, while the model number may be part of the engraved like the Continental name. Presuming the engine hasn't been replaced that still could be the best hint of origin. The serial number tag for a MF-135 is located on the cowling below the instruments to the left of center about knee high. Gerald
