I HAVE A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO GRAB A LITTLE PONY,ITS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE.NO RUST AT ALL, THE SHEET METAL IS SUPERB.BRAND NEW RUBBER ALL THE WAY AROUND.PROBLEMS INCLUDE,CARB=HOOKED TO INTAKE WITH EPOXY,BOLTS MUST BE BROKE.GAS TANK HAS A BIRD NEST IN IT,THE CAP IS MISSING,AND THE THREADS THAT HOLD THE CAP ON HAVE BEEN TORN OFF.I MAY NEED A NEW TANK UNLESS I CAN CUT OUT THE OLD AND MIG IN A NEW CAP W/THREADS.ALSO THE DISTRIBUTER LOOKS ROUGH KIDS PULLED WIRES OUT.ANYWAY WHERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO FIND SOME PARTS?THIS IS MY FIRST MH PROJECT,I USUALLY STICK WITH CRAWLERS,BUT OLD IRON IS OLD IRON ITS ALL NEAT TO WORK WITH. THANKS A MILLION FOR ANY HELP RENDERED,I SINCERLY APPRECIATE IT.

I recently restored a 1949 Pony down to the last bolt. It was a learning experience and a lot of fun. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

What are you waiting for?
The gas tank is a simple fix with a filler neck from an old car. The carb flang may be a bit of a problem, but the quality of epoxys today will enable flang repair.
The only hting that might hold me back would be a locked up engine.
As to parts, I posted the relevent part numbers on this board a few weeks ago. Most, if not all of what you need is available from NAPA.

You should be able to find the parts you just have to look for 'em. We just got one last summer for $450.
