Hi team,
I'm looking at a Fergy 35 (1955-60??) Petrol with 3600hrs on the tractometer. This sounds low to me and the owner reckons (and I believe him) it sat in a shed for 15yrs which would explain it. The bodywork is also pretty good which supports the low hours. Is this really low for a tractor of this vintage?? and if it is it seems it would still have plenty of life left in it and perhaps be a good buy. Its reasonably priced, what do you reckon?.
Thanks Craig

Is 41 old? My kids think so. Depends alot on your usage or abusage. Most of my tractors have over 5000 hours on them and after being overhauled are nearly as good as new. Most of these old tractors are nearly infinitely rebuildable. 3600 hours is most likely the point where the tractor is still running well but is showing some signs of reduced performance. The hydraulics linkages are not optimally adjusted anymore. The engine might not be running quite as well as that first 1000 hours. The paint is getting dull or peeling but she still does the job. I expect to get about 5000 good hard hours on a tractor before it starts requiring some major work. 3600 hours on a 1957 Ferguson is nothing. 3600 hours on a 1998 Kubota rental is plenty. I'll take the old fergie
