Hi there
I have a FE-35 with a 4 cyl. standard diesel engine and i have to remove the diesel pump since it is leaking and does not apply enough pressure.( It won't start...)
Is there anything in particular i should be aware of when removing it ?
Any help would be appreciated.
It's a CAV pump.

Thanks in advance
Mogens

shut off the fuel valve at the tank.about in the center of the pump there is a plate held on by two diagonal screws.remove the two screws and the plate, rotate the engine until the G on the pump rotor lines up with the line at the lower right corner of the window you have uncovered by removing the plate.disconnect the fuel supply, fuel return and injection lines.disconnect the throttle rod and shutdown cable.remove the three nuts holding the pump to the engine, and remove pump, being careful not to bend the fuel lines.

Thanks for the advice. I just learned yesterday that there is some kind of "pre-pump" built in at the end of the pump. I was told that some plates in there might be broken, so i think i'll check those out first.

Kind regards
Mogens

if you take the cover off the pre-pump you will find some vanes inside that move back and forth as the pump shaft turns.there is a cam?? that the vanes ride against.if you decde to remove it,note the stamp on the cam,it should have either CW or CCW showing.it must be put back in correctly.

Hi again
Well that's certainly nice to know....
I've bought a new gasket for the housing and a couple of O-ring for the levers, so maybe this weekend i'll take a deep breath and go ahead.

Thanks

Mogens
