I have a two-way cylinder that won't hold a position. When I put downward pressure on the tines (which it operates) it easily pushes the tines back up. Should I look to the o-rings & other seals in the cylinder or possibly in the control?

Hey Jack you can do a cylinder by-pass test on it, remove 1 hose from the cylinder plug the hose but leave the cylinder open, then start the tractor, determine which way to move the handle to make the cylinder work with the line that is still on it and operate the lever that way till the cylinder bottoms out it will squirt oil out of the cylinder from the open port while your moving the cylinder, anyway when the cylinder bottoms out continue to hold the lever in the same position and note the amount of oil that comes out of the open port on the cylinder a small amount is normal but anything above a good trickle would indicate oil by-passing the seals inside the cylinder.
