I just got done rebuilding a 1964 MF90 gas. The tractor now runs great, and has about 5 hours on it since I finished rebuilding the engine. It has sat outside now for about 2 weeks, waiting for me to get it moved to my new house, and into its own barn. I finally got a trailer and truck big enough to haul it and I fired up the tractor, and it runs great....until I went to put it into gear. Nothing happened when I let out the clutch. The tractor is a multi-power unit. I also noticed that the power steering wasn't working, also the 3 point hydraulics didn't move. The 3 point did want to move but didn't go to far. The only thing that I can figure is that that something is in the hydraulic lines, maybe some water and it froze? I'm not sure, any info on testing fixing the problem, let me know.

Steve, I would run the engine as litle as possible while trouble shooting this problem. Pumps are expensive and hard to find for this tractor, so lets avoid cavation.

The pump that operates the steering also runs the hi-lo range on the multipower. should have 225psi can be checked at the pressure switch on the return line from the steering

But.. three point hitch problems too, it has its own pump, this makes me think the problem is somthing common to both pumps. The only thing they have in common is that they use the same fluid. Assuming the level is correct, its possible water has found a way into you transmision settled to the bottem and froze. removing drain plug should indicate if this is the problem.

PS. I have a shop manual for this model and I am willing give additional info if needed.

Thanks for the help, I did go yesterday, (because it had warmed up) and looked into the problem some more. I started the tractor up, and checked the power steering, it worked, so I then checked the 3 point, that worked, and finally I put it into gear, and that worked, so at least the pump is working. I checked the fluid, and without changing it (I didn't have any on me yesterday) It did have some water in it. I didn't change the fluid as of yet, because the location of the tractor now is about 1 hour from my house, and it started getting cold and snowy. Is there any good way to circulate new oil arround to get any water that might be in the lines out? Do you know commonly where they leak the water in from. The tractor has sat indoors the majority of the time that I owned it, only recently (past 3 weeks) has it sat outdoors, and it was covered very well (4 tarps, and alot of bungies), so I'm not sure where it is coming in. The only place that I can visibly see that it could be getting in is around the shifter, the boot is ripped, but it hasn't been out in the rain, so I'm not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

super90 does the same thing after it sits for a while but then after a few minutes of running it will pick up and work I think it has something to do with the fluid drive loosing it prime let me look in the manual and see if it shows up on the print if i havent posted back in a few days email me steve
